Footbridge
is undertaking a study on a pollution sensitive tree. Japanese
Cedar.
This tree has been used in previous studies looking at the
relationships between pollution and respiratory
problems. It is known that a very close relationship exists
between the stunting of growth of these trees and the degree of
industrial pollution, that is in this instant, Jet Exhaust.
The Prices Road area has a belt of Japanese Cedar dissecting
the immediate flight path of approaching Jets. This is
adjacent to the future site of the training track.
It is obvious at this stage that these trees are stunted and bare no
comparison to trees of similar age and grown in similar soil
structures, grown outside the Prices Road environment.
Professor W. Tyler, retired from the Davis University
Veterinary School in California has communicated with us
and will be sending copies of his work in regards to pollution in
the thoroughbred Horse in the near future. |
