Footbridge Equine is dedicated to the science of the Equine Athlete, and in Chamberlain Road, Bombay, just south of Auckland City, is the home of Footbridge Equine. Here a purpose built laboratory containing world class technology, including the F1ELA - a custom built high speed treadmill, and other superior technology including heart rate monitors, respiratory monitors, all tied in to a software package, are utilised to test and measure the Equine Athlete in exercise physiology.

You will find that being involved on the leading edge of where technology meets horse power is fascinating and rewarding, and very unique to Footbridge. You will be invited to some of the regular training sessions, where information on the horses progress, as well as education on how the physiology of this equine athlete is maintained, will be made available in an easily understood communication style. Footbridge will be able to download from the web cam, a training workout, so on a regular basis, you may see your horse working from the comfort of your office. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of functions at Footbridge Lodge.

However while having all these fantastic devises is great for our performance centre, they also offer a fantastic training tool for Race horses. Therefore in our quest to bring Technology and Nature together, 'The Renaissance of Racing in New Zealand,' we have created an opportunity for individuals and groups to enjoy all that Footbridge has to offer in both education, and great fun times, to race a horse in a lease syndicate status.

We invite you to join Footbridge Equine in the opportunity to have a racing share in the Yosemite Foal, by Beau Zamm, stable name of 'Becky'. This 16 hh Bay mare, has been through the full physiological testing and training at the Footbridge facility. This means that she has had her foundational work and fitness using the technological advances that the treadmill and the software packages have to offer. She has succeeded in her interval and endurance training. And with the fine bone structure of the English thoroughbred, we have followed the costly international trends taking the time to allow her to mature physically, so that now as a 4 year old, she is physically ready to race

While Technology and Racing costs money, we have designed a program which is user friendly and cost effective. This means that the 16 shares are expected to cover all costs within a year, and any monies not utilised will be pooled for the next racing year.

It is up to you how many people are involved in your share, and you can lease more than one share, and as often said, the more the merrier. However one person will be responsible for the collection and payment of the monthly fee. It is expected that with the 16 shares, all general costs will be included in this. Footbridge, will keep a minimum of 4 racing shares in Becky. And we expect you will be able to enjoy 2 years racing in the syndicate, as per the Footbridge syndicates rules of racing.

Our Horses enjoy both Nature and technology. Periodically Becky will return to Footbridge for further treadmill work However meanwhile in her educational phase with Neville Atkins, Becky is continuing her training at Keriotahi - the wild west coast black sand beach, where she can enjoy the pounding surf, and the benefits of sand and sun. For racing education, Becky trains at the Counties training track. Here our selected track rider trains Becky in the art of jumping from the gates, and running against other horses.

We aim to make your racing experience both fun and educational. And of course, when the horse goes to the races, each of the syndicate share holders are invited to bring friends and clients and enjoy a great day of racing.

This is a fun time for owners, and can be a great time to enjoy with friends and business associates. For those new to racing, Race day format can be explained prior and on the day, allowing you to enjoy your horse racing. We will also inform you as to code of dress, and how to place a bet, what the actual race is, over what distance and why the trainer has selected this race.

When the horse wins, not only can you collect on your side bets, however the winning monies will be put back in to the racing pool. Excessive monies will be paid out to the syndicate share holders on a bi annual schedule.

Trophies won will be available for loan by individuals on a monthly basis, just contact the racing manager to schedule a time for you to have the trophy.

Should the horse be nominated to race overseas, the monies in the racing pool may be utilised for travel expenses for the horse and trainer, allowing the horse to compete at the highest level of its potential There are sometimes unexpected moments in racing, where due to unforeseen circumstances, a horse will no longer race under the syndicate. The Racing managers' decision in all matters relating to the horses well-being and racing is final. However should this happen, Footbridge Equine will offer another horse in replacement for the syndicate to enjoy the thrill of racing a 'Renaissance' Horse.
